4th quarter; why is Palmer still playing?

Because the 49ers stomped on our face for three decades. It's a tough call, but I think that the Niners deserved a beating for the ages.

Can't play scared, if you want to win it all. Keeping him in not only let's opponents know we aren't worried, it let's our own team know he can take a hit. Can't keep Palmer clean, all year, no matter what, so you can't worry about 1 hit. Palmer is an iron man, a throwback.

I think we just wanted to get him 1 more TD. He was mainly handing the ball off in the 4th qtr anyways so there wasn't much threat of being hit.

Harry, I see your point. But I also noticed that NE dropped 51 points on JAX, and I believe Brady played all game.I would have pulled CP after three quarters. But that's not the BA way.

The announcers said that with the new CBA practices are so limited that some coaches are using this time to work on things. That makes a lot of sense to me because we know BA hates the limitations on practice time he now has. Plus it sounds like something he told the announcers during the pregame interviews.

Having said that I wanted CP pulled at the end of the 3rd Qtr.

i can MAYBE buy this early in the year, but if we keep killing people (a great thing to write), we should start pulling him earlier moving forward now that they've gotten "the reps."

Oh I agree. Palmer is taking too many hits IMO. This may be the first time any Cards fan has typed such a thought "but if we keep killing people". Too ironic it's one of the original Darksiders :D

BA needs to knock that off.

He doesn't need to be throwing the ball if he doesn't want to take Palmer out then fine but if you're going to throw you can do very quick passes out of the shotgun that give the defense almost no chance of getting near him.

It's arrogant and I wish he'd stop this.

I am all about attacking and destroying a teams will but we have a good run game and we could work on short timing passes or something.

No way would I have Palmer back there taking 5 seconds to throw the ball get it our of there fast once you are up by over 28 it's silly to risk hurting him.

You can leave him in there if that's your policy but there are ways to do it that don't involve risking getting him lit up or crumpled.

My biggest fear is someone is going to blindside him and pull him down awkwardly from behind and pop goes our season.

Barkley was inactive (as I'm sure he will be every week, barring injury). But Stanton should have been in there before the 4th quarter even rolled around, IMHO.

Screw it. We can't worry about Palmer getting injured every game. Come on, you know you guys were foaming at the mouth for the Cardinals to somehow get to 50.

Buck up gentlemen, this is football.

I will worry about it against the Rams.

Last year, lots of injuries. This week Big Ben.

I would have played Stanton for a series or two just to get him a little work in, not too not play Palmer "running scared" and not too keep the score down, either .
