The Miami Dolphins only have one outside linebacker set to hit free agency, but after trading Jaelan Phillips at the trade deadline and releasing Bradley Chubb, the team needed help on the edge.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Dolphins have agreed to terms with Joshua Uche to a one-year deal for the 2026 season.

Uche, 27, came into the NFL as a second-round pick (No. 60 overall) of the New England Patriots in the 2020 NFL draft out of Michigan. Uche spent 4.5 seasons with the Patriots, recording 76 tackles, 34 quarterback hits and 20.5 sacks in 58 games (including 11.5 sacks in 2022).

He was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs at the 2024 deadline, and he recorded just 10 tackles in six games.

Last year, Uche signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, and in 12 games, he finished with 23 tackles, three quarterback hits, one sack and one pass defensed.
