With the Miami Dolphins having seven cornerbacks hit free agency this offseason, they've decided to re-sign one and bring in a few who played elsewhere in 2025 to help make up for the losses.

Among those new cornerbacks that Miami signed in the last two weeks is Alex Austin. According to Over the Cap, the Dolphins gave the 24-year-old a one-year deal worth $1.22 million. The contract includes a $1.15 millon base salary and a $75,000 roster bonus.

With no guaranteed money in the deal, the Dolphins could release Austin at any point before Week 1 and save the entire $1.22 million with no dead cap penalty.

This means Austin will be fighting for a roster spot this offseason, but considering the state of the room and his experience with the New England Patriots the last three years, he has a good shot of making the team.
