Does signing King make it 100% sure

Does signing King make it 100% sure that Cards will not take a QB in this draft. I think it does Cards now have McCown, King and Parsons. I could not picturethe Cards adding another young QB to that core of players.

This pretty much means no QB in the draft...unless we trade down, and by some miracle Eli is still there.

Cards will take Fitzgerald or if he is taken then Mike Williams.
However, Denny will never give away his hand. He will publicly state that signing King does not rule out taking a qb at #3. He will always keep his options for a trade open.

Not in the least. Parsons would be a very easy cut. Green may say, 'hmm...he's had some good training camp work...let's keep him' OOOOOOR, he could just as easily say, 'hmm...he's a nobody that's never shown anything and is very expendable'. No way we can read which way he's leaning right now, IMO.

If Manning is there I would certainly not rule out taking him.

No, not 100% (Maybe 85% sure). It's conceivable that the Cards have been sold on Manning or Roethlisberger all along and that Parsons could wind up being odd man out.

Or - just to make us risk tossing our cookies - maybe McCown could wind up being odd man out. If Denny likes King enough, could he not entertain the possibility of trading McCown, drafting Manning or Roeth and starting King?

(Note - If I was in Vegas, I wouldn't take that bet on a dare. But you can never be totally sure of what will or won't happen in the NFL).

If Manning happens to fall to number 3, I don't see how we could pass him up. I think the Shaun King signing is a CYA move.

Couldn't agree more about the CYA point. If Eli falls to us then draft him or trade down in this very deep draft.

According to this article it looks like King will compete with McCown to start.
