The Los Angeles Dodgers, ahead of the MLB trade deadline, took both Zyhir Hope and Kendall George, two top outfield prospects, out of their Double-A lineup. Speculation grew that they'd be involved in a trade.

Well, Hope was dealt to acquire Tarik Skubal, but George was scratched due to soreness in his knee. And a few days later, George shared on Instagram that he's going to undergo surgery on that knee.

But this isn't a simple issue for George. This injury stems from the viral clip of him avoiding a bat dog in the minors. He hurt his knee, came back, and is now back on the injured list and set to undergo surgery on the same knee he hurt avoiding the bat dog.

On Instagram, George shared a lighthearted comment on his knee surgery: "New knee for the kidddd... Bat dog: 1 KG: 0."

It's such an incredibly unlucky injury for George, and fortunately, he's not taking it too hard by sharing this Instagram story.

This knee injury stems from that bat dog incident, in which he git hurt avoiding a dog trying to retrieve a bat, which led the Double-A affiliate of the Dodgers to end their bat dog program.

It was an unfortunate accident, but it seemed like the Dodgers and George were in the clear as he came back from that injury scare.

However, now a few months later, the Dodgers have placed George on the injured list, and he's undergoing surgery to repair his knee.

Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports that George was taken out of the Tulsa Drillers lineup on Saturday due to soreness, not a potential trade like Hope was.

That soreness stemmed from this knee injury, which he seemingly avoided a serious injury, though he still missed time due to a meniscus issue.

After playing for a while after that injury, George is now set for surgery and will miss quite some time as he recovers from a fluke injury he sustained while avoiding a bat dog earlier this year.
