The Los Angeles Dodgers set their lineup for the second game of a three-game series against the San Diego Padres after losing the first game of the series, 1-0.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed the only run in Monday’s game in the first inning, giving up a solo homer to Miguel Andujar. The Dodgers struggled to create chances during the game, recording just five hits throughout the course of the game. They had a few solid chances, especially with Hyeseong Kim on third in the top of the sixth inning, but couldn’t bring anyone home.
Who is Starting for the Dodgers?
The Los Angeles Dodgers will have starter Emmet Sheehan take the mound Tuesday, as they moved him up a day to give Shohei Ohtani a start just before an off day. Sheehan has made eight starts this season, pitching 41.2 innings and striking out 49 batters.
He has a 4.54 ERA, and has had a strung together two very solid starts since May 8. He has pitched 10.2 innings in that stretch, only allowing three earned runs in the process.

Who is Pitching for the Padres?
To face the Dodgers, the Padres are sending out right-hander Griffin Canning for Tuesday’s game. Canning recently returned from surgery on his left achilles, an injury which kept him out for most of the 2025 season.
He has struggled to get himself up to speed so far, posting a 10.64 ERA through three starts with the Padres.

The Dodgers will look to take advantage of a non-full-strength Canning as they look to bring consistency to their offense and level the series at a win apiece Tuesday.
