You’re right. Screw it. Let’s just keep Gannon. Why would someone highly sought after come here? This is incel mindset.

Why wait - the game should be over by 5:30 MST Sunday.I want the complete coaching staff fired on the Monday after next Sunday at12:01am
I hate to say this Harry but Stevie Wonder saw this trend starting several years ago. You can leave Trey McBride out of the regression conversation. He’s the only one I can think of off the top of my head though.I was caroling at church Sunday and the above line hit me. My question is are you seeing what I’m seeing? With slight alteration came my thread title. What I think I’m seeing is the team is going backwards because players are not learning or they are going backwards skill-wise.
Look at DTD. I’d swear he covered and tackled better when he got to AZ. Sure he wasn’t starting, but in his limited time I thought he played well. Now I watch him miss tackles and be out of position on pass plays.
It took massive injuries for Wilson to get targeted more than once or twice in a game.
I’m also seeing players who looked great in college seem oddly ineffective at best in the NFL. Harrison would be a key example. He never had a drop problem in college except in one aberrant game. He was a big play receiver, but can’t make one for the Cards.
Take Burch. A uniquely skilled force of nature, both in college and the preseason. Now you rarely hear his name. Browning is seldom useful. Why isn’t Burch getting the experience? Who’s the future?
W Johnson was a major turnover factor in college. He has no interceptions this season.
I could list more but I don’t think injuries are the only reason the Cards are pitiful this season. There is virtually no player development. That’s coaching and game planning. This staff has failed totally to put a competitive team on the field. More importantly they’ve failed to get the most out of healthy players. They should be let go.
I'm starting to believe it's because no one wants to work for MB, supposedly the Cardinals scouting dept is far behind others not to mention he won't hire a football operations person etc etc, it's torture being a Cardinals fan yet here I am.I can’t stand passiveness. Go out a be aggressive.
I get back to signing Kubiak. He is going to be highly sought after. Why can’t we be the team that gets a guy like this?
We are consistently the organization sucking hind mammary gland.
Totally agreeWhy wait - the game should be over by 5:30 MST Sunday.
WeWhat makes the job so unattractive is there's no QB in place.
The Bears organization has been pretty bad too but they had Caleb Williams in place. Along comes Ben Johnson and they're contenders in 1 year.
Mikey is a hindrance but with players in place, a HC candidate will come.
The INT was not his fault. WR just let the ball go through his hands. He came in late after the game was decided.Did he look like a guy who deserved to start? When I checked the box score he was 0-2 with an INT.
FWIW I thought Tune was always likely very bad and the enthusiasm about him here was deranged. I dunno if he was offered a spot on the practice squad here and said no or the Cards just weren’t interested in giving him one.
Either way, not great.
You are certainly correct thst a great college player may not become a successful NFL player. My concern is that typically they don’t improve and reach the higher level needed to play in the NFL where you face a solid competitor every week. However, I don’t think it’s common that they develop problems they didn’t have in college. So maybe Johnson’s failure is understandable, but the Harrison situation is surprising to me. Still you make a good point.I’m not sure I agree with your premise — that a great college player will be a great pro player — but I do agree that the Cards’ problems are likely coaching or lack of it. When the new regime came in, I seriously thought we’d be in the playoffs year 3. But here we are, year 3, and we’re farther from the playoff than we were last year. There doesn’t seem to be a strong team in the near future. So what happened? Drafting? Coaching? Injuries? QB? OL? I’d like to give the coaching staff one more year, but would we be right back at the same spot this time next year, asking the same questions? I’m beginning to think the answer is: Let’s not rerun the same script again.
Interesting observation. How many of the Cardinals coaching staff ever played in the NFL?
I thought it was okay to sign Tune. I did not think it was okay for him to be the primary backup. Perhaps they were trying to assure Murray he was the man. You can see how easily a QB controversy started when they got a real backup. Not getting a solid backup was a tactical mistake.Did he look like a guy who deserved to start? When I checked the box score he was 0-2 with an INT.

Exactly. They were afraid of hurting the little guys confidence. I knew when they signed a real backup, this would be the outcome. KM never tried because he never had to. The job was given to him due to his generational talent. He wilted to the competition, just like he does on the field.I thought it was okay to sign Tune. There you go again. WHY??Yes your evaluations couldn’t possibly be wrong. It’s the coaches’ fault.
Just like Clayton Tune was a starting caliber player.
You are correct on all accounts but we did beat DallasGoing backwards
Tanking for draft picks? When Pick 1 wasn't enough to turn things around, and neither was Pick 4. But Pick 5 will be?
The start of the season was even more troubling than the dismal finish. After the whole preseason and with the squad fit and healthy and QB1 playing we were awful out of the gate. Even in our wins. Doesn't look like the current group are capable of building anything sadly
Monti did the Keim thing where he acquired a player at a low cost who was ok at that cost but then extended him and now he is not living up to the contract. Monti traded for Browning who produced 2 sacks in 2024. He decided to reward that with 2yrs, 15 mil, 10 guaranteed which netted him another 2 sacks in 2025.For the record, Baron Browning played 4 more snaps than Jordan Burch.
Eh. I don’t really have a problem with Browning. He’s either the second or third best edge on the team. Seems to get pressure all right considering we don’t need to rush the passer much.Monti did the Keim thing where he acquired a player at a low cost who was ok at that cost but then extended him and now he is not living up to the contract. #SoberKeim strikes again.
I don't have an issue in a vacuum either outside of him being signed to be your other pass rushing edge in a make or break year. It's another example of having zero sense of urgency to compete. OG was the same thing. Evan Brown is not terrible as an individual NFL player. That said, you can't have your interior OG rotation be Evan Brown, Isiah Adams, and a recovering Will Hernandez in your playoff push year. Zay Jones and Greg Dortch can't be your WR3 and 4. ADG had no business being ILB2.Eh. I don’t really have a problem with Browning. He’s either the second or third best edge on the team. Seems to get pressure all right considering we don’t need to rush the passer much.
We can cut him this offseason and save $5M on the cap or see if he’ll take a pay cut.
I think Josh Sweat soaked up a bunch of “easy sacks” that guys like Browning and Stills would have otherwise scooped up while not really adding much in terms of hard sacks.
The Dallas winYou are correct on all accounts but we did beat Dallas![]()
Get ready to duck…The Dallas win
Michael Wilson breaking out
Trey McBride's season, particularly end zone output
The few positives
Those last two partial credit to Brissett maybe? He's not a QB1 but at least a couple of pieces of our offence have progressed in partnership with him. One small area of the roster (the only?) that has improved in 2025.
Yep and it began with the GM refusing to make this team better or even try.I hate to say this Harry but Stevie Wonder saw this trend starting several years ago. You can leave Trey McBride out of the regression conversation. He’s the only one I can think of off the top of my head though.
Man it’s like they don’t have three more seasons to find out!Browning was a known quantity and had limited, if any, unexplored upside. Burch has a chance to become a better player and typically would benefit more from the plaing time. The fact they got nearly equal playing time, especially after the season was lost makes no sense to me. They need to know what, if anything, they really have in Burch.
Ignoring posters like that make the board much more enjoyable for me anyway. He only exists to try and prove someone is wrong or to try and make people believe he's the smartest person in the room. No content whatsoever. IMOMan sometimes you can really be condescending. Like you were never wrong. Whatever. Don’t bother to respond.
