Bought tickets for Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals? Don't worry, your tickets won't go to waste.

If you bought tickets for a game that did not happen, whether your team got eliminated or won the series faster than expected, you are eligible for a refund or credit on your account, according to Ticketmaster.

"For example, the NBA Finals contain up to seven games, with four wins giving one team the series win. If a team wins the first four games, the tickets for the fifth, sixth and seventh games will be refunded," the website wrote.

Other platforms like SeatGeek and StubHub share the policy, automatically refunding the ticket price and fees to the original payment method if a contingent game is not played. SeatGeek said the customer is not required to do anything from their end except wait three to 10 business days to see the refund in their statement, though a credit card purchase might take a little longer, depending on the bank.

So, if you purchased a Game 5 or Game 7 ticket for the Thunder series against the Los Angeles Lakers, you do not have to stress over wasting money. And if you're looking to get tickets for future series, keep in mind that money will be refunded if the later games aren't needed.

SeatGeek also advises buyers to set up a price alert on later games, as prices can drop or spike depending on how dominating a series is looking.
