They looked bad but the bottom line is any division road win is a good one. Maybe they get some confidence and the easy schedule gets an 8-8 record and wins the division. You have to think they'll improve once Beanie is back, they reduce penalties to less than 10, and don't fumble the ball away inside the opponents 30.

I agree with it all other than the fact we should assume we will be better with Beanie.

It was ugly but it was a win. Coach whis is going to have some work to do this week addressing the turnovers and the inaccuracy of his starting QB.

Agreed.

We should keep Hightower in the game to fumble in the redzone, and at the end of the game.

He has the "intangibles"

I'll never apologize for any win, ever. I KNEW this game was going to be a dogfight and it was. Fact is, we are 1-0 and 16 teams would gladly take our win come Monday night about 11pm.

We will be better with Beanie...more weapons.

San Francisco in an early hole...gotta love it.

Yea because because Beanie is stellar at holding on to the rock.

At least there is hope that he left his problems behind him last year. (Personally, I think both guys will continue to have these issues.)

Woah!

Hold up. I never said anything about Beanie Wells. He is not going to improve our ball security issue at RB. Never said he would.

Right now LSH is our most reliable back, and that is a very, very bad thing.

But we can at least agree on something after a win. I think your avatar had a great game (that bomb was a fluke). If Toler keeps that kind of play up, we have the best CB's in the league, IMO.

But unlikely considering he already fumbled twice in the pre season and had several in Traning camp too.

Crazy thing...I still dont know how DA ended up with 297 yards 1 TD and no INT's. And what about Breaston hustling back and stripping the defender at the 4 yard line. HUGE PLAY!! ADUB getting a sack, 2 int's and a block FG.

Absolutely. A win is a win, especially within the division...especially with the Whiners getting a mudhole stomped into them against the Hags. We definitely have work to do, but I have to think if we get Anderson some more time he will improve.

I liked how Somers described this game - "It looked more like an escape than a victory"

An escape is better then a loss but, uggggghhhhhhh.

Last season we started with a division loss at home. Lots of work left to do, but I'll take the win any day.

It ain't how you start, it's how you finish.

more than this, How about a OL that can bloc, or maybe getting the QB to call anaudible when he see's he is going to be blitzed by 6 or more.

Maybe get the defense to blitz with 6 when its 3rd down and 5.

We won but sure looked like the Cards before Whiz.

the Cardinals before Wiz LOSE that game, especially on the road.

If there's ONE thing that I can say defines Wiz's teams over the last 4 years is it's resiliency.

This was a classic opening day game that gave me flashbacks to Cincy in 1997... up 21-16 with a 1:34 left, just had to run out the clock, we guve the ball to Larry Centers on 1st down... and of course he fumbles it. only difference is Jeff Blake hit Darnay Scott in the back of the endzone on the final play of the game to beat us. Today, we got a W.

Hightower and the shorty. I'm sure the rest of the league is quaking in their cleats.

But we did show them that we can move the ball even with Fitz having an off/human day.
