Cloudy as the bottom of the Pacific Ocean 300 miles out probably in Wiz's mind. I still like Matt but WTH do I know.

To me it's still Matt. To the coaches it's probably murkier!

Still Matt. I liked his attitude. Looked like old Matt.

Leinart, but I will be fine with giving DA the chance.

I will be pissed off if we cut one though. I say pick one to start and be ready to make a switch if needed.

Yeah it is tough because I love Hall and I like Skelton but neither is ready to be the backup so if you cut DA or Matt we're really taking a risk.

To me Matt is better, much better touch passer, much more accurate.

Both QBs played well tonight, and Max Hall looked impressive in his very limited opportunity as well. Tonight didn't really change much in my opinion, but I am feeling just a little better about the fact that either one looks capable.

Matt seemed to me to shake off the 'just don't lose the job' feel, and suddenly play like it really means something. Not saying DA played bad, but if Matt will just keep that fire, he's the guy.

I liked DA but ML looked decent even though he continues the short routes only.
I dont mind that, as long as it gets the team in the endzon, plus it eats up more clock...Matt would absolutely thrive in a true WCO...

He watched Warner shred teams throwing almost nothing but short, quick routes in many games the past two years. Remember how we were last in big plays in the passing game last year?

So, I'm not surprised he's taking what the defense is leaving open.

I noticed this as well. If Leinart cannot throw the ball deep to keep the defense honest then the short stuff will be taken away. I'd like to see a game where Leinart does both. KW could get the ball deep when needed.

Some of that was play calling & situations. Leinart can get the ball deep if you followed this team in 2006.

No way does Derrek Anderson deserve to be the #1 QB on this roster, (not now,----maybe not ever). His QB rating was 111 tonight, but I don't believe Matt's has been below 135 in any of the preseason games.

Whiz still, (for some unknown reason) fails to put Matt in the best situation to achieve. For example, down near the goal line, he called another running play up the middle for Beanie, (the one that he was called for the fumble on). Probably the perfect call at that time, (after two successive good running plays), would have been a play action to Beanie, and pass into the endzone. How could that play not have sucked the entire defense to clog the middle, leaving possibly more than one receiver open outside, or crossing in the endzone.

So far, Anderson has achieved his stats, because of the extremely favorable number of plays he has been allowed to run, while Matt has had far fewer to excell with. Yet Matt has not thrown ints. or fumbled t he ball away, and has achieved a much higher success rate than Anderson. If Whiz sees it any other way, he is looking though biased eyes. Matt has outperformed Anderson by a considerable margin, despite being held somewhat in check by Whiz's play calling when Matt was in the game.

To me, this is starting to smell just like it did when Whiz was reluctant to give Rothlisberger his due credit when he was a rookie under Whiz. The big difference was, Rothlisberger had a head coach who had his back. Matt doesn't seem to have the same advantage.

Actually the call was a screen, not a run. nothing wrong with the call IMO. It had a good chance to score.

When Anderson was in, there was some throws that the receivers had to make nice catches on. The one Stephen Williams was blasted on (after catching it behind him) comes to mind. It was in the general area, and he moved the offense well once, but the offense was like an old car with a rough engine. When Leinart was in, guys were hit in the numbers and the O was quite smooth. Both quarterbacks had nothing but the starting Bears D. Leinart really should have had 2 TD drives.

Leinart's definitely the starter.

I believe you are right here about the screen, but it still put Beanie into the exact situation where he has been prone to putting the ball on the ground, in heavy traffic near the goal line. That is not necessarily the best call to put Matt into the position to succeed in my opinion, (even though the replay showed that Beanie was down). Bottom line, Whiz doesn't give Matt the same chances to succeed that he gives Anderson. I don't know why this is so, I only know that it appears to be so.

After seeing Leinart have that look in his eyes again and do as well as he did, I have to say in my mind Leinart, no question.

all things being equal, i think leinart is the starter. he has bided his time, worked in the system and now has produced without any turnovers. Da is ok as a backup.

I never doubted Matt, But I will y Whiz was correct every position not just QB was easier evaluated and with 3 preseason games in 11 days. We are more ready to prepare for the rams opening day. winning had very little to do with this bears game.

17 for 21 no interceptions, 1 td is outstanding play by matty, 100+ QB rating. everybody around him must rise to his level and a balanced game plan and play calling will make us a playoff team and SB contender.

If Matt was any better with a 75% + completion and 90 % in this game I would say the East coast bias was dead and Matt Leinart owns the NFL from the west coast. LA loves the Cardinals. Get your name out their Rhodes, and The Bean stop singing without professional help.

it doesn't look good on you.

We might need two Qb this season. Matt is clearly ready to lead this team if the Headcoach can get out of the way. DA is a very good back up and can win us some games. But he can lose us some to. It is Matts team and I am wondering if Whis is threatened by that. No reason he should have been made 2nd fiddle as I see it.
