Devin Lloyd is cashing in with a lucrative contract after enjoying a career-best season in 2025.
The Carolina Panthers are signing Lloyd to a three-year deal in 2026 NFL free agency, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Lloyd's contract will be worth $45 million.
Lloyd starred for the Jacksonville Jaguars' opportunistic defense in 2025. While he recorded a career-low 81 tackles in 15 games, the 27-year-old was excellent in coverage, generating five interceptions after totaling just four picks across his first three NFL seasons.
Lloyd also added seven pass defenses to his ledger and allowed a passer rating of just 69.2, per Pro Football Focus. That helped him grade as the publication's No. 3 overall linebacker for the campaign, behind only perennial All-Pro Fred Warner and Detroit Lions star Jack Campbell.
Lloyd was selected to his first Pro Bowl and made the All-Pro second team as a result of his excellent season. USA TODAY Sports' Nate Davis ranked the 2022 first-round selection as the top overall free agent linebacker in 2026 free agency and the 15th-best player overall.
The Panthers will install Lloyd as their top off-ball linebacker and will likely have him serve as their defensive signal-caller, a role he held with the Jaguars.
Lloyd signed a three-year deal to join the Panthers in free agency. Here's a look at the reported terms of his contract:
Lloyd's $15 million AAV ties him for the fifth-highest-paid off-ball linebacker in the league, per Spotrac.
