I'm confused why you think that. :) Nash only did it to benefit the Suns (he hated the Lakers) and because it would work for his family. Amare didn't want to be traded but the Suns (Sarver) wouldn't pay him due to his knee issue (Sarver opted to pay Turkey glue (can't remember how to spell his name) and Warrick instead. And Barkley just had his feelings hurt that he was on the trading table:

Later Regret
Despite forcing his way out of Phoenix, Barkley has since admitted that he did not actually want his time with the Suns to end. In later interviews, he revealed that he had been caught completely off guard by the trade and that his true intention was to finish his career in Phoenix. [1, 2, 3]

Sarver didn't want to pay Amare because no one would insure his knees. That was a risky deal. I think the Suns should have done it given who they gambled on but we didn't know at the time that was the plan. So Amare wanted to stay but wouldn't concede in any way as far as guaranteed years or option years.

This is an insane compilation.

Nash was the single greatest passer in NBA history.

He was also one of the most efficient shooters ever.

I cannot imagine how good he'd be if he played in this era and felt the freedom to shoot, modern NBA offense is basically built on Nash and D'Antoni.

He's the best Suns player ever and one of the more underrated players of all time, especially if you account for impact on the game.

Nash highlights without his signature one handed layups off the dribble.

He was a great passer, but watch a Jokic highlight reel and get back to me.

That's for sure. He could easily have been a 25 ppg scorer.

He won two MVPs and was voted into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, so I think it's a stretch to say that he's very much underrated.
