Watching teams tag some of (if not) their best players like Manning, Vick, David Harris, Woodley, Mankins, Vincent Jackson, Ngata, Hali & even the Iggles using the transition tag on K David Akers.

Maybe the tag is voided if no CBA is agreed upon (doubt it), but those teams at least tried to protect it's most valueable pieces for a chance to win!!! And the Cards don't think the best player on it's team is good enough to protect? If Larry Fitzgerald doesnt sign an extension (not looking good IMO), Rod Graves should be fired the day #11 leaves AZ!!! I really can't believe more of you aren't seeing whats before our eyes.

Not completely sure what you're getting at here... We're trying to re-sign him, and we have him for another year. And I'm sure we'd try to tag him if that clause weren't in there. We shouldn't have agreed to that, but it's part of negotiation. It can't be perfect.

Thats precisely the point!!! Rod Graves signs players to contracts, he's the GM & he potentially gave Fitz his walking papers. Plain ass stupid!!! As I said above, the teams that want to win don't put clauses in players contracts like that & they didnt. Fitz is in the prime of his career and can walk for nada after this season & wont sign a deal unless he knows he has a QB in place that can be successful.

We can't. I'm just saying, we don't know how these negotiations went. What if Fitz hadn't re-signed years ago, if he didn't get this as part of his contract? We wouldn't even have the memory of that Super Bowl year.

You mean the same contract that every top 3 draft pick, by every single team that has been signed over the last ten years gets?

Barking up the wrong tree. They didn't make a mistake in the initial contract, they made the mistake in not re-doing his deal the year prior before he had the team by the nuts.

As for Fitz this year, he without a doubt in my mind will get a new long term deal. Not even a question. Fitz is a Wiz guy through and through, and Wiz is a Fitz guy through and through. The last two guys you could say that about were Wilson and Dockett. Both players the fans were talking as if they were already gone a year before their contract ended and both players given extensions. Wilson given a big extension a year before his contract ended, dockett given a big extension a year before his contract ended, Fitz will be the third in three years.

I agree I always kinda chuckle and feel a little bad for people who FREAK OUT about stuff that literally hasn't happened yet!
