Denver Broncos depth chart ahead of the start of Training Camp

We finally made it! The Denver Broncos will hit the practice field this week for the start of training camp and officially kick off the 2026 NFL season. Expectations are very high in the Mile High City, and the start of their long road to the Super Bowl starts this week.

Now, before things kick off later this week, let us take a look at the Broncos’ current 90-man roster and see how the team looks on paper.

Thoughts​

• Quarterback: The Broncos will head into camp with the same three QBs they had last season, but could we see a battle for the backup job between Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger?
• Running Back: JK Dobbins is back and will pair with second-year back RJ Harvey. However, joining the group is rookie Jonah Coleman, who figures to factor into this backfield this upcoming season. After that, Jaleel McLaughlin, Tyler Badie, and Cody Schradter will compete for a spot on the 53-man roster or the practice squad.
• Wide Receiver: Jaylen Waddle is the big addition, but the real battle is for the WR3 role. It’s a deep room, and we’ll see if any of the UDFA’s and Hakeem Butler can make some noise during training camp.
• Tight End: Rookies Justin Joly and Dallen Bentley will look to push for a roster spot while Lucas Krull and Nate Adkins will attempt to hold them off. Don’t sleep on Caleb Lohner, whom Sean Payton praised earlier this offseason.
• Offensive Line: The team is returning all five starters along the offensive line, but could we see a competition for the LG job? They have solid depth throughout the line, and it should be interesting to see how this OL picture shakes out throughout camp.

Thoughts​

• Defensive Line: All eyes will be on the John Franklin-Myers replacements, second-year defensive lineman Sai’vion Jones and rookie Tyler Onyedim. Can either rookie player replace JFM? Don’t sleep on massive Eyioma Uwazurike either. Zach Allen and DJ Jones return as starters, with Malcolm Roach likely seeing a larger role this upcoming season
• Edge Rusher: Jonathon Cooper’s off-the-field issues cloud this room a bit. However, even with his status with the team up in the air right now, the team will have Nik Bonitto returning with promising young pass rushers Jonah Elliss and Que Robinson in the mix as well. Dondrea Tillman will return as a valuable depth piece, while Drew Sanders and Johnny Walker will look to push for a spot on the 53-man roster or the practice squad.
• Linebacker: Returning are veteran starters Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad. However, the depth behind them is where things get interesting. Jordan Turner will start camp on the NFI list, so that’s a blow to this room, but it opens up opportunities for Karene Reid, Levelle Bailey, and rookies Red Murdock and Taurean York.
• Cornerback: It’s a loaded room led by the best cornerback in the NFL in Pat Surtain II. Riley Moss and Ja’Quan McMillian enter camp in the final year of their deals with the team, while 2025 1st-round pick Jahdae Barron will look to push one of them for a starting job. Kris Abrams-Draine might be the best 5th cornerback in the NFL, while the rest will look to push for a spot on the 53-man roster or the practice squad.
• Safety: Leading the way here are All-Pro safety Talanoa Hufanga and the returning Brandon Jones. Behind them, you have All-Pro special-teamer Devon Key, special teams ace Tycen Anderson, JL Skinner, and rookies Miles Scott and Parker Robertson. We’ll see who can step up and replace the role PJ Locke held down in recent years and if any of these reserve players can have a breakout camp performance.

Thoughts​

• Special Teams: Everything should be the same as last season with Wil Lutz as your kicker, Jeremy Crawshaw as your punter, and Marvin Mims Jr. being an All-Pro-caliber returner. However, keep an eye on the exciting longsnapper battle between Mitchell Fraboni and rookie Luke Basso.
