Might be better than Supes but that's a very low bar.
Supes 2025 was 83/90 on Rotten Tomatoes, so not everyone agrees with your assessment. That aside, after viewing the trailer, it does seem to have a Guardians feel to it...... which would be fine with me.
And color me silly, but I liked Krypto as a kid and like him now, too.

I am way looking forward to this one.
way back there was hintage that Kara Zor El was a bit darker than supes... but it was never explored or expanded on.
But TV has always given us the cheerleader... Hollywood has always given us a SG that was the kind of girl you would want to bring home to mother....
finally,....mothers have changed...and we get the real Kara Zor El...

Yeah… they better pray Batman 2 and Supes 2 fly out of the stratosphere because I think DC is staring at two big bombs this year with Supergirl and Clayface, whether the movies are good or not.
I can't wait for Batman 2. I already loved the first but then I watched the Penguin and wow, they have some great story telling going.
Superman 2...I just don't know. I really disliked the story in the first one
Actually I would be more excited for Superman if I knew it didn't have Lex in it. That dynamic I don't want to see again
Im thinking Super Girl should be pretty good... they at least seem to be creating the proper expectations...as long as they dont market the movie to ten year old girls they should get favorable reviews from audiences.,... the "edgy" thing is still in,...and Girl Power doesnt get much more powerful than SG other than captain Marvel...and from my perspective they are presenting this way better than Marvel was prevented so they shouldnt have the same feelings of let down that audiences got from Marvel.
Honestly..."recognizing that I could be a fan boy here"...DC could be on to the next big thing in super hero movies here.
Tough confident woman...a bit edgy..beautiful...came up hard,,,been traumatized... but has the courage and morals to pull herself up by her boot straps and do the right thing.
as long as they dont over play the "Damaged" Kara this should relate to audiences.
I really hope it does. Movies have kinda fallen flat since the Avengers played out.... It would be nice to see a character,..or IP, whatever...step up and take over the scene for a decade or so...give us four or five strong movies.

well I will tell you what...
KFC has Super Girld combo meals for kids..and they are giving out these little nylon figures,...one per meal... action figures about four inches tall..but nothing moves.
I looked them overr and out of the 5 I kinda liked the one of the Villain,...the SG,..and the Krypto...so I talked the girl into selling me a couple...except you cant choose because its "Blind" bags...you cant see whats in there...so I bout 2..$3 each IIRC...and wouldnt you know it?? I liked three out of the 5...and I gor Kara,..and some dude named Ruthye... the only two I wasnt interested in...so now I gotta go back and buy more...

Whether right or not, I listen more to the audience score. We will have to see, but I suspect this may end up being more of a cult film, which is often okay with me, too.
