Right now, Pavan Smith is at 1B with Tyler Locklear having elbow surgery and Blaze is LF with Lourdes Gurriel out with his ACL. I assume they hope Locklear is that guy when he is back.

I'd like to see him get some consistent ABs to see. He has not shown anything, but he has 96 career ABs over three years. Hopefully he can get ABs over Blaze.

They're trying him out in CF - he showed some signs near the end of the year...I'm not ready to give up on him.

Arenado is past his expiration date and has been going downhill in St. Louis for some time. They've been trying to trade him even longer than the DBacks were trying to trade Marte. His glove is still OK at his age but his bat is not exactly "prime time".

He's probably equal or slightly better than Longoria...and that's just fine for now. I'd be more interested in what he brings to the table as a veteran leader.

$11 mil over two seasons is a fair deal for where he is in his career. Not mad at it. Hope that a change in scenery in a more hitter friendly park would get him to a above average state
