The Los Angeles Dodgers took on the Chicago Cubs on Monday. And at first, it seemed as if things would go their way. Los Angeles got out to a 3-0 lead and had all the momentum in the first inning. Unfortunately, they would only score two more runs in a lopsided 10-5 loss away from home.

Justin Wrobleski allowed seven hits and seven runs in less than five innings on Monday. It’s a brutal performance for sure, but Dodgers fans can look forward to something special. Tarik Skubal makes his team debut on Tuesday, and manager Dave Roberts hopes he can help stop this four-game losing streak before it gets out of control.

“We haven’t won a game since he’s been here. It’s not his doing. He’s getting to know his teammates and coaches… I’m excited, we’re all excited for tomorrow. We’re all excited for his Dodgers debut. We just need to win a game,” the Los Angeles manager said, via Arash Markazi of The Sporting Tribune.

Skubal has been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball over the last three seasons. He won the AL Cy Young with the Detroit Tigers in 2024 and 2025. Detroit made the playoffs both years, losing in the ALDS each time.

Detroit is outside the playoff race and faced an uphill battle to re-sign Skubal, a pending free agent this winter. As a result, he was traded to the Dodgers. And he will look to help Los Angeles win its third straight World Series ring this fall.
