I know everyone here has much more football knowledge than I do....But...
We won our first two games, albiet ugly. But everyone admits the first couple of games are sloppy and look like preseason games due to starters not playing in preseason.
Third game we lost Conner in a close loss
Fourth game we lost Benson in another close loss
GAME 5...The Titans......Murray goes down. Now, no running game...For the REST OF THE SEASON!
JB comes in and the passing game comes to life, because, again, NO RUNNING GAME...except for Dallas, no wins
So, why not bring JB back as QB1, build the Oline to protect him. Get the running game back so defenses don't just tee off on our QB. Build up our defense to get stops without giving up 50 yds per possession and it should turn into wins
This seems easier to turn things around next year without drafting a nobody QB and worst case...we get a QB in 27

Feel free to use my name if needed...:)

For those that don't know, a NFL team can eat any portion of a players contract. So Kyler's contract is pretty much meaningless since the choice is eat all of it or eat most of it.

Murray has a 53m cap hit and a 54m dead cap but you can just pay the 40 million in a trade so his salary is 14 million for the year for a team and 18 million next year OR they can pay 54 million to get rid of him for nothing.

Now I get it, it is the Cardinals, but this is obvious.

As long as the Cardinals are looking to add a potential quarterback of the future, I'm good with it. Brissett is not the future though.

Now picks 1-5 are a 10 million to 8 million cap hold. So suddenly paying Kyler 14 million seems pretty damn reasonable for a middling QB coming from a bad organization
Stop this nonsense. Get this nonsense out yo keypad. I'll blame you if the Cards are dumb enough to run it back.

How so? Passing up huge money for cozy little money with no guarantees for next year. Pretty damn dumb to me.
I agree- pretty foolish to pass up #2 money. You never know the future - but in a “loaded” 2027 class and the nature of the game with injuries and what not- going to be hard pressed to make it back to #2 status.

That said- there is a small part of me that is kind of relieved. I didn’t watch much film on Moore, but that semifinal was ugly. I’m glad the cardinals didn’t give up the farm for him

I am talking about in a trade. We eat 40 million so someone else just pays 13 million.

The nonsense is if we cut him and eat the 54 million dead hit. That would be terrible GMing

I get the NIL money can be in the ballpark of the year 1 money but unless you completely flame out, you want to get close to your extension. He either really didn't want to play for the Jets or really loves the college life.

Raiola is definitely pissed wherever he is right now. I’m sure he and his agent are hitting the transfer portal asap.

Also, go ahead and kill me for this take, but bringing back K1 simply has to be a consideration at this point.
Raiola is going to redshirt this season.

Moore going back seems crazy. He must be terrified of going to the Jets.

Sooo many ways he doesn't even sniff the first round next year. Let alone top 5.
Really bad decision....
Unless dude goes undefeated, wins a Heisman and a natty, while passing for 5000 yds and 45 TDs with zero picks, and running for 350 yds and 8 more TDs....
Then dude could lock down #1 overall...

It could happen...but i think he should smack whoever is ad

He’s not ready to play for a bad team and he’s already wealthy from NIL from Oregon and endorsements.

He should get the same or more money next year and won't be in the QB graveyard that is the Jets.

If you don't follow a strict financial plan--as a freaking college kid--it's very, very easy to burn through NIL money in no time. You have to really work to burn through #2 overall in the draft money. Huuuuge difference.

@TotallyRed: Yeah, no. Ask a whole host of QBs that were going to come out last year and decided to stay in school, and see how they like their draft stock now. He can go #2 overall easily. There is nowhere near a guarantee he goes top 10 next season, and could easily fall out of the 1st with a bad year.

Good move football wise, terrible move money wise. He's passing up over $40 million, more than likely, that he'll never make up. That $40 mil is gonzo forever. I'm sure he will be OK financially anyway but that's a LOT of dinero to throw away.

Yeah, just ask Odell Beckham Jr...it's tough out there on only 100 mil a year

It is only going UP every year. It was $39 million last year and is projected to be about $43 million this year (for the top pick(s) in the NFL draft).

He is already a millionaire (NIL net worth of $2.4 million). He gets to be big man on campus and try to win the CFB Championship, win the Heisman or other awards, and play another year of college ball. His choice. And when he comes out next year, the value of being a top pick will likely be closer to $47/48 million.

He's just a kid. I remember when Jake Plummer came out of ASU. He was sad to not have any more college eligibility because he had so much fun being a college QB. It's a limited time thing and you can never go back, so enjoy it while you can (and get paid for doing it nowadays).

I'm glad it's happened to him. Guy went to multiple high schools, committed to OSU, flipped to UGA and even transferred to a Georgia high school, then switched commitments on signing day to Nebraska. Now he's on to Oregon until he transfers from there. Guy is a clown.
