3rd Inning
UNC stared to piece things together in this inning, as a single and sacrifice bunt had a runner on second base. Soon they had runners on the corners, and with two outs, they tied the game at 1-1.
4th Inning
Francik had a bit more traffic on the bases in the top of the inning, but still kept it tied for her offense.
Against UNC’s reliever, Jim Livengood, Ruggiero and Kennedy Harp both reached safely, before two outs brought up Hayley Griggs. Her one out single put FSU back in the lead, 3-1.

UNC chose to intentionally walk Torres with two outs, bringing up Jaysoni Beachum. Her RBI single extended the lead, before Ashtyn Daley made it 7-0. Her three run homerun opened the flood gates for the offense, as they made their way to the fifth inning.

5th Inning
The Tar Heels looked to get a few runs back, but after the first out by Francik, it brought up Emily LeGette. Her solo shot off of Francik only up FSU up six runs heading into the bottom of the fifth.
A Harp double led off the bottom of the inning, and a Griggs single put runners on the corners. A second walk to Torres loaded the bases, and with one out, Beachum’s walk against Carly Maxton made it 8-1.
After the bases loaded walk, UNC went to Nikki Harris out of the bullpen. In relief, facing a potential run rule, she gave up a single to Danley. The two runs batted in was enough for the eight run differential, and giving the Seminoles the series sweep.
