The Dallas Cowboys have selected Boston College edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku with the 44th overall (12th in the second round) selection of the 2025 NFL Draft on April 25.
Ezeiruaku played in all four of his college seasons with the Eagles, where he was a two-year starter.
Here are three things to know about the newest Cowboys defender:
Ezeiruaku got his first three sacks as a freshman for the Eagles in 2021, and he only got better from there.
The defensive stalwart recorded 30 total sacks in his four years with Boston College, which is second-most in program history behind two-time Super Bowl champion Mathias Kiwanuka.
And after a relatively down junior year where he recorded just two sacks, Ezeiruaku exploded with 16½ sacks as a senior in 2024. That total placed him second among all FBS defenders, while his 21 tackles for loss was the most in the ACC.
Putting up the kinds of numbers Ezeiruaku put up comes with awards, and he has a shelf full of them.
Ezeiruaku was named the ACC's Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-American for his play with the Eagles. Additionally, he received the Ted Hendricks Award for being the nation's top defensive end, an award that was previously won by his new teammate Hutchinson.
Ezeiruaku played high school football at Williamstown High School in Williamstown, New Jersey, which isn't exactly a hotbed of football talent.
The relatively undersized player (at the time standing 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds) was listed as a three-star recruit in his class by most prep sites and was ranked the No. 24 player in the state by 247 Sports.
And now, he's the 44th overall draft selection coming to Dallas.
