All eight Boston Bruins are playing in the World Championships today, and there are two Game 7s tonight.

The Maine Mariners are the only team in the organization to still be competing in the playoffs, and that is on the line tonight. For the second straight series, the Maine Mariners are in a Game 7. They have not won on the road this series.

In other Bruins news, they have another offseason decision. They have a right-handed defenseman with an expiring contract. The Bruins also need a right-handed defenseman; they tried trading for one in January, and the depth chart runs thin.

Elsewhere around the league, the Canadiens and Sabres are fighting to play in the Eastern Conference Finals. Tonight determines who will travel to Raleigh for Game 1 on Thursday.

The Maple Leafs also said goodbye to two assistant general managers, the torch (Canadian ‘C’) was passed to Macklin Celebrini, the Memorial Cup is set, and the US picked up a win over Great Britain yesterday morning. They play again at 10:20 AM.

Happy Monday, catch up on Bruins and league news in today’s Daily Bean:

Boston Bruins

PEEKE: The Bruins have a few decisions to make this summer. One of them is Andrew Peeke. They can keep him, or they can decide to let him walk and upgrade the right-shot defensive depth. Peeke finished with a team-low minus-12 rating during the regular season, but he led the team with a plus-two in the playoffs.

IIHF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Check out who is playing, how to watch, and the eight Bruins’ schedules for the World Championships. They are all playing today.

Here are the Bruins who played at the World Championships yesterday:

MAINE: Game 7. Tonight. Not the one in Montreal, but the one in Wheeling, WV. After a game six overtime loss, the Mariners are looking to close out the Nailers (PIT) season and become the first team to win a road game this series.

If they win, they will take on the Florida Everblades (STL).

NHL News & National Hockey Now

NHL.com: Game 7. There is nothing better. The Canadiens and Sabres meet at KeyBank Center tonight, and the winner gets to go to Raleigh, NC. The Sabres are 5-1 on the road and 2-4 at home during the postseason, and though Lindy Ruff joked that they were trying to play the game in Montreal, he knows the mentality has to flip.

PLAYOFFS:

  • A1 – Sabres (3) vs. A3 – Canadiens (3)
  • M1 – Hurricanes (4) vs. M3 – Flyers (0)
  • C1 – Avalanche (4) vs. C3 – Wild (1)
  • P1 – Golden Knights (4) vs. P3 – Ducks (2)

Colorado Hockey Now: Out west, the Avalanche are waiting for the Vegas Golden Knights. Jared Bednar is expecting the best out of the Golden Knights, even if they did not have the strongest regular season (39-26-17). Aarif Deen has more on the Western Conference Finals.

Sportsnet: The Toronto Maple Leafs made some more front office moves yesterday. Assistant GMs Brandon Pridham and Derek Clancey are departing the organization, the team announced yesterday.

Pridham was hired out of the NHL office and started with the Maple Leafs in 2014, and he was regularly viewed as a GM candidate across the league.

San Jose Hockey Now: Macklin Celebrini is Team Canada’s captain at the World Championships. Sidney Crosby was a late arrival, and he pushed for Celebrini to keep the ‘C.’ Celebrini, of course, wanted Crosby to wear it.

CHL: The Chicoutimi Saguenées won the QMJHL championship last night, and the 2026 Memorial Cup is set.

The Saguenées will play the Kelowna Rockets (host), Everett Silvertips (WHL champs), and Kitchener Rangers (OHL champs). The first game is on Friday night at 9:00 PM ET.

TSN (video via /YouTube): The United States won early yesterday morning, beating Great Britain 5-1 at the World Championships. Isaac Howard (EDM) scored the goal to give the US a 2-1 lead, and the goal proved to be the game-winner. Howard added another goal late in the third to make it 5-1.

Great Britain turns it over in front of their net and Isaac Howard punishes the mistake!
