Over the last couple of years, the Chicago Cubs have been waiting to see the superstar potential show itself in young outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong. This season, they are starting to get a look at what they've been needing to see.
Crow-Armstrong has been on a major hot streak to begin the 2025 MLB season. If he can continue producing at the level he has shown so far, the Cubs will be in very good shape.
During Saturday's matchup against the NL Central rival Milwaukee Brewers that ended in a 6-2 win, Crow-Armstrong once again put together a strong game. He went 1-for-4 at the plate, but hit a three-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to give Chicago a 4-1 lead. The team never looked back.
Following the win, manager Craig Counsell spoke out with a strong message about Crow-Armstrong. He's seeing the star talent the Cubs acquired him to bring to the organization.
“This is star-level production, no question about it," Counsell said.
So far this season in 34 games played, the 23-year-old center fielder has hit nine home runs to go along with 26 RBI's and has been hitting .271/.307/.564. That is exactly what the Chicago lineup was needing from him this year.

After beating the Brewers, the Cubs now hold a 21-13 record. They currently hold the lead in the National League Central division race.
Last season with Chicago, Crow-Armstrong struggled at the plate. He played in 123 games, hitting 10 home runs and driving in 47 RBI's. He had a slash line of .237/.286/.384. His improvement is very obvious.
