It isn't easy being in Pete Crow-Armstrong's shoes right now. For a Chicago Cubs team that's facing plenty of pressure, and has delivered on it, he’s been a big part of that.

Crow-Armstrong has been one of the top players in Major League Baseball, and if he continues playing the way he has for the remainder of the campaign, there's a good chance that he'll end up being a top-three candidate for the National League MVP Award.

Already posting a 1.7 WAR, the 23-year-old is currently hitting .294 with a 148 OPS+, five home runs, and has one of the best gloves in Major League Baseball out in center.

And many understand that it isn't as easy for him to succeed as it might seem. That includes skipper Craig Counsell, who spoke with reporters after he lit up the Los Angeles Dodgers in their series, giving him credit for what he's done and how the team around him has helped.

“We have a lot of guys engaged and paying attention to each other,” Counsell said, per Patrick Mooney of The Athletic.

“That means they want to help. When you’re the young player, you’re going to hear a lot. So you just got to take in the stuff that’s usable, and the stuff that works. But it’s a real sign that everybody really cares about you. When you’re struggling, that’s as important as anything. Yeah, the mechanics, but the fact that everybody cares is probably the most meaningful thing. And then you hear that one thing that maybe clicks.”

Being a young player in an organization like the Cubs isn't easy. The fan base expects plenty, but Crow-Armstrong has lived up to the hype.

Hopefully, it'll continue for the California native.
