Not much of a chance this happens, but this trade has been floated by Vikings fans. Could Jim Harbaugh who has called JJ McCarthy the best QB to ever play at Michigan and the best QB in the draft, shock the league and start his Chargers tenure with his guy? Again, it’s probably just to show support for his former player, but Harbaugh was front and center at JJ McCarthy’s pro day.

This would be the dream scenario for Monti and the Cardinals. The Chargers give their 2nd round pick and we still get MHJ.

I floated this just the other day. Said my buddy a huge Vikes fan was hoping to trade 11/23 and Jefferson for Herbert and their pick.

This is nothing more than a Viking fan's wet dream!

The Chargers would have a $108,504,000 dead cap hit if they traded Herbert before June 1st.

Plus, why would Minnesota offer up a 2nd round pick to move up one spot?! A 3rd would be a massive overpay for a 100-point move. They only way the Cards could even expect a 3rd would be if they could convince the Chargers that another team is offering a huge haul for the #4 pick, and that the Cards don't really value Harrison Jr. much more than the next guy.

Anyway, no coach in his right mind would trade Herbert for a guy who, no matter how much Harbaugh likes him, would amount to a lottery pick as an NFL starter. Much less give up massive draft capital and salary cap hit to do so.
