The Vikings have parted ways with general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, with one potential front office member of the Pittsburgh Steelers positioning himself as a top target for Minnesota's GM hunt.

On Friday, the Vikings announced that after the 2026 NFL Draft, they would “conduct a thorough search” to find their next general manager — with Steelers assistant general manager Andy Weidl quickly emerging as a potential option.

Weidl, who became Pittsburgh's assistant general manager after Omar Khan was hired as GM, has played an important role in scouting, particularly in assisting in the rebuild of the Steelers’ offensive line.

Previously interviewing but getting passed up by the Atlanta Falcons in their GM search, Weidl could theoretically have one last shot in 2026 to land a general manager role once the Vikings begin their pursuit.
