As the ProRodeo season enters its most important stretch, every dollar won carries extra weight in the race to qualify for the 2026 National Finals Rodeo. For ******** riders, the Dutton Ranch Darby Xtreme ******** event is one of the most important stops of the year, giving competitors a chance to make a significant move in the standings before the summer run reaches full speed.

Regarded as one of rodeo's most intense competitions, the Darby Xtreme ******** has grown into the richest stand-alone ******** riding event in the world. Featuring 30 of the best PRCA ******** riders competing for a $60,000 purse, this year’s event once again attracted a stacked field that included NFR qualifiers, world champions, and rising stars hoping to punch their first ticket to Las Vegas.

Kade Sonnier topped the first round with an 88 point ride on Queen Scarlet from Pickett Pro Rodeo Co., while Tanner Aus, Clayton Biglow, Cooper Filipek, and Cole Reiner all tied for second with 87 points. Kashton Ford and 2022 World Champion Jess Pope secured a spot in the finals with 86.5 point rides, and Cooper Cooke and 2023 World Champion Keenan Hayes closed out the roster with a pair of 86-point rides.

When the dust settled on Sunday's matinee final round, it was Cooper Cooke who rose to the top of the leaderboard. With two NFR qualifications already under his belt, the Idaho cowboy is no stranger to performing under pressure – especially amongst the best ******** riders in the world. He delivered an electrifying 91-point ride on J Bar J's No Show Reiner, taking home nearly $14,000 total. Cooke entered the weekend ranked No. 14 in the world standings, but moved up three spots to No. 11 following his dominant performance.

Opportunities for ******** riders have never been better! Cooke’s win at the Dutton Ranch Darby Xtreme ******** event means he remains eligible for the newly created Big Sky Xtreme ******** bonus, which will award $100,000 to any rider who can win both the Darby Xtreme ******** and the Riggin Masters event at the NILE in Billings, MT, this October.
