Had a vision, made the decisions that few people would make and got the Broncos to the Superbowl twice already, correcting the mistakes from the first run.

He went out and bought a defense, it paid off. Our defense compared to Denvers is a joke....

All anyone needed was pressure on a qb and everything else falls into place. Just need a better front seven if it's just adding one or 2 key players, this could change the D as a whole.

They were missing key pieces in that first one. No Miller for one.

And a special mention to the Panthers, as tough as it was to lose the NFC championship, I was over it a few days later...... As much as I believe in "Any given Sunday" I can't see a scenario where we play the Broncos in the SB, and Palmer leaves the game under his own power.

I believe that Denver's defense is one of, if not the best of all time. No shame in being worse than that. We need that pass rush. Trade away 1st rounders if you have to.

What?

What is it about the Bronco's that people leave the team and seem to come back better than ever? It's like they either realize it was so good there and come back trying even harder or...?

I don't know but they sure seem to circle back. Shanahan, Phillips, Kubiak. It's crazy. Other teams bring in new blood and they recycle the old.

Me thinks John Fox had a lot to do with that defense. When did he leave the Broncos? two years ago?

Last year! Let's not kid ourselves, Fox isn't near the defensive genius Phillips is.

Wade Phillips was the reason the reason they won, though a healthy Ware & Miller was a huge plus

I used to think the NFCW had the best defenses...

They did, but the 49ers got rid of Harbaugh and the Broncos saw what the Seahawks did to them and built to compete. Many people talk a big game, Elway actually delivered.

The sad thing is, many of us Cardinals fans have been calling for our front office to step up and bolster the pass rush for many years. Don't get me wrong, I think Kiem is light years better than anything we have had in recent years but I just don't get how the FO seems to drag it's feet on some positions. We need a pass rush and it always gets swept under the rug. That's been the biggest problem. Our secondary would be so much better if we had a decent pass rush.

The real issue IMO is that OSLB in a 3-4 are not easy to find, especially ones that can step in a do the job. What I am trying to say is that most of them are "made". It a steep learning curve.
