Welcome to the Morning Commute

Today we’re talking about Mizzou Baseball … and what’s next

After their first SEC Tournament win since 2017 in a 10-8 victory over Ole Miss, Mizzou Baseball’s season came to an end on Wednesday. The Tigers lost 12-2 to nationally ranked Mississippi State in the 2nd round.

It was a promising start as Mizzou took a 1-0 lead on a home run from Camdenton native Kam Durnin.

Though, it was all Mississippi State after that — with the Bulldogs scoring eight runs in the Bottom of the 6th for a run-rule victory.

Mizzou ends the season with a 24-31 overall record and a 6-24 mark in SEC play. While there were signs of improvement, there’s still a lot to be desired about the current status of this struggling program.

Laird Veatch will have an interesting decision to make on Kerrick Jackson: Here’s what he had to say:

Following #Mizzou baseball's SEC Tournament win against Ole Miss, I asked AD Laird Veatch for his overall thoughts on the season & where the program is at, right now, as it still look to take a step forward: "Candidly, not where we want to be…We gotta keep getting better." pic.twitter.com/LIx10RdIeA

Yesterday at Rock M and Rock M+

For the first time since 2017, Mizzou Baseball has won a game in the SEC Tournament!

It was good to at least win one game in Hoover.

Take a look at my story on Missouri baseball and its game against No. 16 Mississippi State, where Brady Kehlenbrink threw eight strikeouts on the mound for the Tigers. https://t.co/cZg8pFfPYw

The Tigers managed to win their home series against Vanderbilt, marking their first SEC home series victory since 2024 and their first series win over the Commodores since 2018.

Mizzou’s series win over Vanderbilt will effectively end the Commodores’ 19-year NCAA Regional streak.

In addition to her high school career, she competed with SkyHigh Volleyball on the club level. At the 2025 National Championships, Agnello received tournament honors and was named a Third Team All-American.

A big get for Mizzou Volleyball. Even bigger that Agnello is joining the program early!
