Welcome to the Morning Commute

Today we’re talking about Mizzou Hall of Famer Nick Bolton!

An All-American linebacker, a 2nd round NFL Draft Pick, a two-time Super Bowl Champion, and now a Mizzou Athletics Hall of Famer.

Your first member inducted into the 2026 Mizzou Athletics Hall of Fame Class goes to …. Nick Bolton!

Good stuff from Chiefs head coach (and former Missouri Tiger) Andy Reid with the announcement.

It’s a well-deserved honor for the former Mizzou great. Bolton racked up plenty of accolades during his three-year stint with the Tigers including the SEC’s leading tackler in the 2019 season. More from Jaden Lewis on RockM+.

Stay tuned for more inductees as Mizzou Athletics will announce them in the coming days.

In other news, Mizzou’s SEC Network Takeover Day will be on Sunday, July 12 — which will feature gymnastics’ win over Florida (editor’s note: YAYYYYY) and the football Border War win over kansas.

Mark your calendars! ️

The @SECNetwork Takeover returns July 3-July 18

Each of the 16 @SEC schools will takeover the network for a day of school-centric programming with 24 hours of the year's best moments

Cunningham’s viral pointing moment has been a trending meme for the past few days, which means its time in the limelight might already be over.

But with Crowe, it’s probably safe to assume the five-star guard, the all-time scoring leader in California prep history, is cast for a prominent role in MU’s rotation. When he committed almost a year ago, his profile could be summed up in two words: shot creator. While MU envisions Kennard Davis Jr. as a bigger ball handler, Gates pinned the combo guard tag on the BYU transfer, and it’s notable that the Tigers’ portal refresh did not include a veteran lead guard.

Big expectations for Jason Crowe Jr. this upcoming season. Can the incoming freshman handle them?

Former middle-distance runner Andrew Hauser has announced his commitment to Saginaw Valley State University via Instagram. Hauser, who joined the Tigers in the fall of 2024, is coming off a stellar 2026 season. Highlights include a fourth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Battle on the Bayou, where he claimed a new personal best of 9:16.35, and a seventh-place finish in the 1,500 meters at the Yellow Jacket Invitational.

Best of luck to Andrew Hauser at his next stop, Saginaw Valley State, which is a D2 school in Michigan.

Plus, some World Cup talk!
