What is this "Common" folder that shows up when I start my computer now? I can't figure out where it's coming from.

The only thing I installed recently was that NASA Worldwind thing, but I've uninstalled that and this folder still shows up. I've looked around online, but there's not much info on it. Hoping someone here can help. Thanks!

If you are registry savvy you can go into

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete the key for it

I haven't done anything with it yet.

I'm more worried that I have problems with my internet connection now.

I ran regedit, but I can't find HKLM. The find function didn't really help. Do you know what folder this thing is in?

HKLM = HKEY_Local_Machine

OK, I'm with you now, but I don't see anything in the name or data columns that look like "common folder". Do you know which one it is, by any chance?

If you didn't know what HKLM was, I wouldn't mess around in the registry.

Why can't you just download CCleaner?? For a free tool it works pretty well. Once you install it go to Tools and click Startup. All the keys are right there for you. Or you could use the Uninstall feature, also in tools. Does a good job of removing everything.

Good tip. Thanks. I'll try that first. :)
