The Washington Commanders, for most, have one legitimate target for Jayden Daniels in the passing game, and that's Terry McLaurin.

With Deebo Samuel gone, and the likes of Treylon Burks, Luke McCaffrey, and Dyami Brown, they aren't exactly going to scare NFL defenses. But Terry does.

But McLaurin hasn't exactly been used in the right way over the past 12 months, and his new offensive coordinator, David Blough, recently made a comment on how he can get McLaurin 10 targets a game, something that only happened once in 2025.

And for Terry, he loved hearing of Blough's plan for him.

"I love that. You know, he told me that way back in February," McLaurin said via JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington. "He texted me that. Him and I have a really good relationship. He's been a man of his word. My job is to prove that each and every day, when we're having workouts, to be the leader, to be someone who you can count on to be on the field and make plays.

"That's all I've been asking for. That's all I want -- to win games and have a big part of that. So I was definitely smiling when I saw that come across (my) phone."

Of course, Blough will be trying to make sure that won't be the case, but when you have a receiver like McLaurin, you have to get him the ball.

If he does get 10 targets, you can make the case that Terry will be good to catch eight of those, and if that happens, the offense will be in good shape. But he needs others to help him.

McCaffrey is expected to improve, so too Burks and even rookie Antonio Williams are likely to be asked to step in and make plays consistently.

But it starts and stops with McLaurin, who right now looms as Daniels' only legitimate weapon, and when that's the case, 10 targets a game is expected.
