It hasn't taken long for Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels to get comfortable with one of his newest weapons. The reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year was courtside at the season-opener for the Washington Mystics on Friday, accompanied by wide receiver Deebo Samuel.
Daniels and Samuel must have brought good luck to the Mystics, who defeated the Atlanta Dream 94-90.
Washington traded for Samuel in March, and he reported to Ashburn last month when the Commanders began their offseason program. Washington is currently nearing the end of Phase Two of the offseason program. Phase Three will begin on May 27, followed by the mandatory minicamp starting on June 10 before the Commanders break for training camp.
It's good to see Daniels getting acquainted with Samuel. When Washington traded for Samuel, the former Pro Bowl receiver expressed his excitement about joining the Commanders and catching passes from Daniels.
As for Daniels, he continues to support all of Washington's sports teams, including the Capitals, Nationals, Wizards and Mystics.
