The Crew announced that they will host Burnley of England's Championship League for a friendly at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field on July 12.
The matchup is the Crew's first against an English-based team since 2024, when they defeated Aston Villa 4-1. The Crew are 14-6-3 in friendlies against international opponents.
"The match against Burnley FC offers our club valuable experience against a competitive opponent as we prepare for the second half of our season,” Crew general manager Issa Tall said in a statement. “Facing a team of Burnley’s caliber will provide a meaningful test for our players ahead of our return to MLS play."
The game will be the Crew's first since the start of the FIFA World Cup break on May 25.
The Crew went into the eight-week break 4-4-7 after beating Atlanta United 2-0 on May 24 to build a two-game winning streak under interim coach Laurent Courtois.
Following the friendly, the Crew will return to MLS regular-season play at home on July 22 against New York City FC.
Burnley is coming off a rough 2025-26 season in the Premier League, finishing 19th with a 4-24-10 record, which resulted in the club being relegated to the Championship League.
Kickoff for the friendly is set for 4 p.m.
