March 11 (UPI) -- The Indianapolis Colts agreed to a two-year, $88 million contract with quarterback Daniel Jones, a source familiar with the deal told UPI on Wednesday.
Jones' deal, which is worth a maximum value of $100 million, is the largest two-year contract in NFL history. The pact features $50 million guaranteed and $60 million guaranteed for injury.
Jones, who signed a one-year, $14 million deal with the Colts last off-season, received the transition tag earlier this month. He was set to earn $37.8 million under the terms of that tender.
The former New York Giants quarterback completed a career-best 68% of his throws for 3,101 yards, 19 scores and eight interceptions over 13 starts this season. He missed the final four games of the year with an Achilles tear.
The Colts, who started the season with an 8-2 record, lost their final seven games and missed the playoffs.
