As the Indianapolis Colts take the field for OTAs, joining them in a limited capacity is quarterback Daniel Jones.

According to the Indy Star's Joel Erickson, Jones is taking part in all of the individual drills.

Jones is only roughly six months removed from the season-ending Achilles injury he suffered in Jacksonville in Week 14 of last season.

Jones' rehab process seems to be moving quite quickly. And although seeing him on the practice field in late May could come as an initial surprise, things seemed to be trending in this direction for several weeks now.

Back on Apr. 21, when the Colts began offseason workouts, head coach Shane Steichen said that Jones was hitting his recovery landmarks and was already dropping back and throwing at that time.

Although non-committal at that time to what Jones' participation in OTAs was going to look like, Steichen did say in April that the Colts "anticipate him being ready for training camp."

Jones' pace in the recovery process is a credit to how diligently he's attacked the rehab process. Steichen also had the chance this offseason to speak with Boston Celtics' President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens about Jayson Tatum's recovery from an Achilles injury he suffered.

The Colts signed Jones to a two-year, $88 million deal this offseason. The team believes that the success Jones and the offense had through the first half of last season can be replicated and sustained in 2026.
