Colorado football added plenty of talent at wide receiver this offseason, but Ernest Campbell might be the one who changes the room's dynamic. The Sacramento State transfer brings elite speed, familiarity with Brennan Marion's system, and a track record of turning limited touches into big plays.

Campbell's speed jumps off the page first. He ran a 6.76 in the 60-meter dash during the indoor track season, which ranks No. 9 in Colorado program history. That kind of burst gives Colorado something different, especially with redshirt freshman Julian Lewis expected to handle the starting quarterback job, and he needs reliable explosive weapons on the perimeter.

Campbell's Go-Go experience is significant

Campbell also brings proven production. At Sacramento State last season, he caught 37 passes for 755 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging a whopping 20.4 yards per catch. He is a yards after catch monster and can do damage every time he touches the ball, not just when the offense schemes him open.

The other edge is comfort. Campbell has already played for Marion, which should eliminate any transition. Colorado also added Danny Scudero, DeAndre Moore Jr. and Kam Perry, and that deeper receiver group should create more room for Campbell to work downfield.

If the spacing holds and Campbell stays healthy, he could become one of the Big 12's most dangerous vertical threats.
