Coloradoadded quarterback Isaac Wilson from Utah this offseason, and this week Wilson made sure to remind people that he did something not many did during the 2024 season.
That something is throwing a touchdown pass against Heisman Trophy winner and former Colorado star Travis Hunter.
"I saw the Buffaloes in 2024," Wilson said, recounting the game. "I was throwing so many touchdowns and so many interceptions...I was the only kid to throw a touchdown on Travis Hunter, though."
Wilson's Utes faced off against Hunter's Buffaloes in November of 2024, with Colorado getting the better of Utah, 49-24, largely due to three Wilson interceptions. Despite the otherwise tough day, Wilson did throw a beautiful 40-yard touchdown to Dorian Singer, which beat Hunter deep down the left sideline. It was a pass that seemingly held little significance, but it was the only touchdown Hunter allowed all season. The throw itself showcased Wilson's talent.
Now with Colorado, Wilson, the brother of NFL quarterback and former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson, is the top candidate to back up redshirt freshman Julian Lewis when camp breaks later this year. He is coming off two seasons with the Utes, where he completed 127 passes for 1,510 yards, along with 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The former four-star recruit will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
