After hearing from defensive coordinator Chris Marve and defensive leaders linebacker Gideon Lampron and cornerback Cree Thomas during the first media availability of fall camp, the offense was next up. Offensive coordinator Brennan Marion and wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. and running back DeKalon Taylor were up next.
Marion discussed a variety of topics, including his relationship with Julian Lewis, installing his Go-Go offense, the importance of the center position, and how he is shaping the offense for the current Buffaloes team.
Moore and Taylor both discussed how much the team has grown since January, both on and off the field. Taylor noted how confident the offense is in Marion's scheme and how it should produce wins. Both players came off as two of the team's leaders, a big missing ingredient in last year's team.
From all three individuals that spoke, you could feel a complete change from last year's team, with the attention to detail being prioritized and everyone holding each other accountable.

Both Marion and Taylor highlighted how the Go-Go offense can turn around a run game that has been the worst aspect of Deion Sanders' teams each season since he took over CU four years ago.
"All of those guys (running backs) can be explosive," Marion said. "They've been very violent, running downhill. They've done a lot better job in protections. That was the challenge from the spring to the summer — to understand protection. Those guys have been doing a really good job of understanding the protections and then being physical at the point of attack."
Marion added that he does not plan on ever sacrificing the run game, believing it is a part of his offensive identity.
"We're always going to be able to run the football," Marion continued. "We love contact, we love physicality."
Taylor talked about how the scheme is built to win and that the improvements along the offensive line make the whole running back room confident.
"You can't loose with this scheme," Taylor said. "That’s just how I feel about it. The o-line, phenomenal, phenomenal o-line. I can’t even describe how good they are."
From the moment Moore sat down at the podium, you could see he was a team leader, especially with how he approached his time over this spring due to injury.
"My role is however I can help the team win; that is what I am here for," Moore said. "Whatever I can do to help the team, that's my job."
Moore discussed his time away, saying that he was a regular in the film room trying to gain every advantage possible. The former Texas star, who was on plenty of winning teams, sees similar potential with this Buffaloes squad.
"The little things," Moore said when asked what makes him feel like this team can win.
Moore and Taylor perked up when asked about playing in Marion's Go-Go system, saying it allows them to play free and reminds them of being a little kid in the backyard.
"I see this offense as an offense that allows the players to have freedom," Moore said. "You have a lot of options to do what we want to do as players. You don't always have to run certain routes, like no we can just go and get open."
Taylor talked about how the scheme is more reactive and lets players read the field and play off what they see.
"From the running back perspective, it is a lot more reactive," Taylor said. "You don't have to stick to a scheme; it is whatever you see, go for it...I’m pretty excited for what I can do, but not just me. We have so many weapons, the line is amazing."
Taylor reiterated Moore'ssentiment about the team focusing on all the details during camp.
"The culture itself has changed," Taylor said. "We’re a lot more disciplined than we were last year."
Three centers are competing for the starting job, which includes Demetrius Hunter and Sean Kinney. Marion says the center plays a major role in his offense, including pre-snap calls.
"The center is the engine of the O-line in terms of the communicator… Here, the centers will make the call," Marion said. "For us, we have three really good guys, veteran guys who played in big games and understand things… It helps a young QB… Our centers are going to have some responsibility when it comes to calling the front and ID'ing the mic."
"He's doing a good job of being the same guy, consistent every day, and his teammates respect him for that," Marion said of Lewis.
Marion also noted that there will be plays installed to help Lewis play free and put him in the best position to lead the offense.
"There's quarterback-friendly plays, there's advantage throws, there's so much within the game now that can help a young QB be successful that doesn't force him to be Dan Marino on day one." Marion said. "We filled the room with talent so he can play free."
