We are now just days away from the release of EA Sports College Football 27. The game comes out in less than a week for the public to get their hands on. The regular release of the game will be July 9, but it will come out on July 2 for anyone with the MVP membership.
The question BBN has about the game is what the ratings for Kentucky’s players will be. Many fans will dynasty-build with the Wildcats and are curious about the starting point, especially in the new era of Kentucky Football.
Here is the list of all Kentucky players ranked 80+ overall in the new game.

Coleton Price | C | 88 Overall
Kentucky’s highest-rated player in this upcoming game will be the center Coleton Price, at 88 overall. One of the most prized pickups of the offseason for this staff was Price, who Kentucky landed when he transferred from Baylor. The 92 strength and 91 awareness are two things you love to see when talking about your starting center. Price comes in as the 10th-best center in the game.
Lance Heard | LT | 87 Overall
Lance Heard was one of the moves that turned some heads in the offseason. Heard started for the Tennessee Volunteers for three years and is one of the best offensive tackles in the sport. You could tell the staff wanted to build from the trenches out with these two big-time additions in the offseason.
Ty Bryant | SS | 87 Overall
Lexington’s own Ty Bryant comes in tied for second on the team in the highest ranking. The biggest name when it comes to returners is Bryant. Bryant returns to Kentucky after a year in which he led the SEC in interceptions and has high hopes heading into his senior season. I can see it now: numerous pick-sixes for Bryant in this new upcoming game when I use him.
Tavion Gadson | DT | 86 Overall
Gadson played significant minutes in his junior season at Kentucky; now heading into his senior year, he will play a big role for this Kentucky defensive front. For any of the people who like to play dynasties and sim the defense, Ty Bryant and Tavion Gadson holding it down for you while it sims will be pretty nice!
CJ Baxter | RB | 85 Overall
The Texas running back transfer, who has had a career riddled with injuries, has made his way to Lexington with hopes of having an amazing year returning from injury. The fun part about Baxter for game purposes is the fact that he has 91 speed and 90 agility, meaning he’ll be super quick and fun to play with in-game!
Nic Anderson | WR | 83 Overall
Anderson had quite the start to his college career, making it seem like he’d be one of the best route runners in the sport. Since then, he hasn’t been able to catch a break with injuries. Luckily, in the game, you can turn those injuries off and get a fully healthy Anderson with no threat on injury. A 91 speed receiver will always be fun to drop back and throw to in these college football games.
Jordan Castell | SS | 82 Overall
Castell transferred this offseason from Florida, where he spent three seasons before making his way to Lexington. Now, he is paired up in the secondary with Ty Bryant, and according to the game, UK will have a super healthy, quick, and super aware safety room.
Mi’Quise Humphrey-Grace | Edge | 82 Overall
Heading into his second season at Kentucky after transferring from South Dakota, Humphrey-Grace should be set for another step forward. One forced fumble, 31 tackles, and 3.5 sacks were what he accomplished in year one, and I think we will see him grow on the field, and that game overall go up throughout the season.
Jovantae Barnes | RB | 81 Overall
Kentucky’s other running back, this one from the other side of the Red River Rivalry, comes in ranked still above the 80 overall mark. Both Baxter and Barnes will get a ton of touches in real life and in the game. The only bad part with Barnes in the game is that he won’t be around long for your dynasties, as he’s headed into his senior year.
Terhyon Nichols | CB |81 Overall
The highest-ranked cornerback on the team this year is an 81, and it’s a familiar face in Terhyon Nichols. Headed into year three at Kentucky, he will have some big shoes to fill, as the secondary has proven to be really good and move on to the next level. 96 speed for Nichols will make him a tough matchup for any receiver in the game, along with his 89 change of direction and 91 agility.
Jason Patterson | RB | 80 Overall
Kentucky’s third 80+ overall player in the backfield is Jason Patterson, who will be heading into his third year in Lexington. Patterson has shown flashes over the years, but obviously, that doesn’t translate to games because they go off of what they know. He comes into the season with a 90 speed and 86 change of direction and agility.
Kenny Minchey | QB | 80 Overall
The name that many would be curious about is the signal-caller himself, the quarterback. Kenny Minchey is transferring to Kentucky after serving as a backup to several high-level quarterbacks at Notre Dame. Overall, this will definitely shift throughout the season depending on how much better or worse he performs in certain categories. 86 speed, 87 agility, and 85 change of direction mean that, in the game, he will extend some plays and create others worth telling your friends about.
That’s the list of all the 12 players who are 80+. Other than those guys, a few notable names that I noticed the overalls of are Willie Rodriguez at 79, Tegra Tshabola at 79, and DJ Miller at 77. Obviously, throughout the season, these overalls will fluctuate based on how certain players play, but these are the guys’ preseason ratings.
