The Boston Celtics are hard to play on both ends of the court, currently the owners of the NBA's second-best offensive rating and eighth-best defensive rating in the league. And that fact was not lost on Toronto Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic, who had plenty to say about the ball club that defeated his 115-101 Sunday (April 5) afternoon.
"It was a tight game, starting in the fourth quarter there," he explained. "I thought their best players made the plays they needed. It was in isolation, it was in one-on-one. It was them knocking down some shots. I thought overall, we did a really good job guarding the 3-point line, and at the end there, it was their drives to the rim and us not doing a good enough job of containing those drives." The Raptors plan to take Boston big man Neemias Queta out of the game with Ja’Kobe Walter in particular went poorly, which Rajakovic acknowledged. "We were trying to ... match up the right way with Queta to have more rebounding there, and try to keep match-ups.
"(Walter), he was really helpful today. He did a really good job rebounding," said the Raps coach. "But also, I thought that Queta did a really good job of playmaking today as well."
"We just had to come out with more urgency," said Walter. "I think they went on a quick run immediately in that ... fourth quarter, and we didn’t stop the bleeding."
"We’ve got to figure out a way to punch back, especially (given) our identity is defense -- we can’t have many slip ups that early in that quarter."
