Fans made their way into the friendly confines of the Cleveland Browns team facility on Friday for the first open session of training camp. Day three saw the defense dominate yet again, but a few notable plays stood out from the quarterbacks.

The rotation continued, with Deshaun Watson flipping back to the first-team offense and Shedeur Sanders running with the twos.
Watson got off to a rough start during the two-spotting 11-on-11s, completing just one of his three pass attempts in his first series and tossing his third pick in three days on a pretty egregious pass over the middle of the field right to LB Quincy Williams.
The majority of his completions throughout the day came on checkdowns and shorter routes near the line of scrimmage. His best sessions came during the second-to-last 11-on-11 session, where he went 2-for-2, and one of the passes was dropped by Jerry Jeudy. He was under duress a lot, though, and was constantly resorting to a scramble drill to make plays.
Sanders had a much better day with the twos, where he avoided the dominance of Cleveland's first-team defense. Sanders had a really strong 7-on-7 sessions, where he made some nice throws to the Browns two newest wideouts.
He closed the day by completing three of four passes in the third-and-long, 11-on-11 work session, including an absolute dime of a throw to Tylan Wallace on a corner route.
Meanwhile, Dillon Gabriel continued his eye-catching start to training camp. He threw the only touchdown of the day on a wheel route to Gage Larvadain during 7-on-7s. He tossed an interception to LB Nathaniel Watson during the second-to-last 11-on-11 session, but responded nicely by completing a really nice pass to Brenden Bates on a dig one play later. Gabriel has arguably been the surprise of camp.
Day 3 ended with Jimmy Haslam holding his annual training camp press conference. He talked about an assortment of topics from expectations for the 2026 season, the future at the quarterback position and why he signed off on trading Myles Garrett.
There were a few stadium questions as well, as Haslam downplayed rumors of sticker shock on the PSL pricing, emphasizing that one of their biggest goals with the new stadium is to make sure common fans can still afford to go to games. He and managing partner JW Johnson also made it clear that they're not "punting" on the 2026 season.
KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston have spent most of their time with the second-team offense these first few days and then once the full team comes together later on in practice, they rotate in with different groups like all the skill-position players do.
Day 3 in particular was a good one for the two rookie pass catchers. During the two-spotting 7-on-7 work Sanders hit Boston on a post-corner route near the sideline, dropping it in a tight window for Boston to snag it over D'Angelo Ross. Later, during the full team 11-on-11 work, he connected with the Washington product again with a nice ball on an out route.
As for Concepcion, during that same 7-on-7 session, Sanders floated a ball to him on an out-and-up, and the first-round pick climbed the ladder to bring it down. It was another highlight-reel play from the practice and another day where both young wideouts continued their strong camps.
The old saying that the defense is ahead of the offense early on in camp has proven true in Berea these first few days. And what's stood out is the fact that whichever quarterback has been running with the first-team offense, against the first-team defense, has generally had the worse day of practice.
Jared Verse, Mason Graham and Mike Hall have constantly been in the backfield blowing plays up. Meanwhile, Carson Schwesinger and Quincy Williams seem to be teleporting across the field at times to make plays. The early returns on Mike Rutenberg's defense are excellent, but the real test begins when the pads come on next week.
The offensive line carousel continued on Day 3. With the first-team unit featuring:
Tytus Howard at RT, Zak Zinter at RG, Elgton Jenkins at C, Zion Johnson at LG and Dawand Jones at LT
The second unit featured:
Austin Barber at RT, Kendrick Green at RG, Parker Brailsford at C, Jack Conley at LG and Spencer Fano at LT
DT Maliek Collins was out on the field on Friday, but not practicing, obviously, while on the PUP list. Fellow DT Kalia Davis wasnt practicing for a second straight day after leaving Wednesday's practice with an injury.
Two new additions were G Teven Jenkins and TE Harold Fannin Jr., who was excused for personal reasons.
Rookie TE Joe Royer remains away from the team for unknown personal reasons.
One of the last plays of the day for Sanders came during the final 11-on-11 session of practice, where Cleveland was working on third-and-long situations.
Sanders stood in the pocket and confidently dropped a dot to Tylan Wallace down the left sideline. It was an absolutely beautiful throw, layered over the corner but in front of the safety. Felt like a strong statement from him to end the day.
Quincy Williams gets the nod today. It seemed like wherever the ball was, there Williams was in the same vicinity. He's been everywhere these first three days, but that was especially true on Friday.
He opened the day intercepting Watson during the two-spotting 11-on-11 quarterback reps. He and Schwesinger are on their way to forming quite the dynamic duo at linebacker.
Jimmy Haslam was asked what success looks like in 2026. He offered up a pretty bold prediction for the Browns this season.
"I would say this, and we never do this, but I think the odds are for us to win 5.5 games. I'll take the over."
Day 4 is Saturday, for another opens session. Gates open to fans at 12:30. It's the final practice before the pads come on, on Monday.
