Not a lot will be decided on Day 1 of Cleveland Browns training camp, especially when it comes to the quarterback competition between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders. The good news for the QB competition, no matter what drama might be stirred up, like the Jerry Jeudy livestream, is the quality of the relationship between Watson and Sanders.
Last year, while Kevin Stefanski was still the head coach of the Browns, a report came out that Watson’s role in supporting and mentoring Sanders would lead to his return for the 2026 season. At that point, few believed Watson would actually get a chance to start again in Cleveland, but a lot of things changed, including Stefanski being fired and Todd Monken taking over as head coach.
After the first day of training camp, Sanders is now taking on the mentor role with rookie QB Taylen Green, it seems:

Good to see the second-year quarterback, along with the veteran Johnson, spending time with the rookies as Browns training camp gets under way.
