I spent yesterday looking for a new truck for myself. I'm still in "research" mode, but I had the Ford guys offering me 0% over invoice and $3,000 cash back on an F-150. I doubt I'll buy anything before August, but man, they must be desperate for sales.

Same boat as you. The lease on my Ford truck is running down. So, I'm in research mode. The question is do I buy now and get a pretty good deal on the 2003's. Or, can I wait until later this year for the newly redesigned 2004 Ford. The new design is supposedly really mind-blowing.

Big thanks to edmunds.com for making it easier for us!

I bought a car last year. I used carsdirect.com to set up a purchase. It told me I had to go out to Camelback to pick up the car but I didn't want to drive that far. So I printed it out and went to the local dealer. They told me "Ya that car is selling like Hot Cakes...can't keep them on the lot" I asked "How much can you come down on the price" He says "Almost nothing but I may be able to come down like $500" So I said "Really...well if I go to camelback I can pick up the same car for $4500 less" he looked at me and looked at the print out and said "we can do that too" WHAT A SLIMEBALL! I can not stand car salesman they bring out the worst in me. I ended up getting another $750 and got some other stuff. All in all I got a 28K car for a bit more than 22K.

Then 2 weeks later they tried to back out of the deal (it was a lease) said that they used the wrong depreciation value and that my payment would go up. I told them to fly a kite. So they had the finance place call and say that they did not accept the deal and I had to take the car back. I called the dealer and said I would bring it back on Thurs but I ended up waiting till Sun. Friday night they sold my trade in and ended up stuck in the deal with the bad depreciation value so I get another 3K off if I buy it.

Especially when Mac and Graves have already made it plain the Cards have no need there.

I don't understand why we wouldn't go after him. We wanted Colvin so bad and lost out. Fredrickson is not coming back. And no thinks we need to fill this area. I remember Rodgers getting to the QB's at ASU haven't followed him as much with the Dolphins. I'd be all for this move. Espesially if it was for TJ.

As a side note, I was tempted to buy some Ford stock lately with the price being so low, but now, I'm not so sure..... They seemed a bit too desperate to me.

In my case I may end up kicking myself for rejecting the deal on Saturday but the guy was being a jerk. The deal was a Tahoe LS 2wd for 26,785. The saleslady told me I could get 0% financing(even though the 3000 off was already counted in the price) and that someone last night had got that very price but then was rejected when they didn't qualify for the financing. I knew I would. She also said they would add in the tow package to the deal(about $350 she said).

Then the sales manager comes back, 0% but it costs 3000 more, and the tow package is $599 how do you want to pay for that? The tow package is $299 it's right on their site so they wanted 300 to install it, I offered to pay half, no dice. Took 20 minutes to get him to even show me what APR rate he was using when I said I'd take the 3000 off instead of the 0%(Because of my downpayment the discount is a better deal). Then he suggested I simply up my down or increase the term of my loan to lower the monthly costs, "it's not a big deal." Well then why don't you simply lower the price? Adding 12 months to the loan jacks up my overall cost by 1080 bucks.

HE finally insulted my girlfriend saying "she doesn't want you to buy the car so as long as she's here we're just wasting our time"
I walked out with him saying someone would buy the car in the next 15 minutes. 3 days later he called to "resurrect the deal", when I called back someone else told me the car was gone but I was welcome to come down and negotiate on another car.

I stood by my principles but it appears the deal I rejected was about $1900 below invoice(according to a competing Chevy dealer) so I may not get that good of a deal anytime soon.

Just didn't want to buy from such a person.
