Former Milwaukee Bucks and Fiserv Forum President Peter Feigin has been honored at City Hall.
Feigin, whose departure was announced in January, was commended for his 12 seasons with the Bucks.
That included his role in developing Fiserv Forum and Deer District; helping lead the team to an NBA championship in 2021, and involvement in such community efforts as the development of the Milwaukee Bucks Foundation.
Those were among the accolades cited by the Common Council at its Feb. 10 meeting.
Feigin told council members he appreciated the honor. And he noted the council's role in the development of the arena and Deer District.
That includes the 2015 approval of the city's $47 million portion of the $524 million public-private financing package for Fiserv Forum.
Feigin was named Bucks president in 2014 after the team was sold to a group led by Marc Lasry and Wes Edens. He became Fiserv Forum president after the arena opened in 2018.
Feigin was succeeded by Josh Glessing. He previously was chief of strategy and corporate development for the Haslam Sports Group – which bought a 25% share of the Bucks in 2023.
The Common Council on Feb. 10 also honored Milwaukee historian and community leader Reuben Harpole.
Harpole's accomplishments include helping develop "more than 25 community centers and programs across Milwaukee Public Schools and higher education institutions; being a pillar of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Center for Urban Community Development, and working to help preserve history via America's Black Holocaust Museum," said a council statement.
