According to the NFL transaction wire, the Kansas City Chiefs waived undrafted free agent defensive back Marlen Sewell to free space for the return of cornerback L'Jarius Sneed on the 90-man offseason roster.
Sewell played at Vanderbilt for five years before signing with Kansas City as an undrafted free agent after the 2026 draft. During his college football career, he appeared in 45 games and tallied 102 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
Second-year defensive back Nohl Williams commented on Sneed's potential veteran presence on the team during Tuesday's press conference.
"For sure. I've watched him (L'Jarius Sneed)throughout my college career. He's a good cornerback addition to our defense – addition to our DB room," said Williams, "I haven't talked to him, but I'm looking forward to meeting him, learning from him. He knows what it looks like. He knows how to be a championship DB on a championship team."
During Sneed's 57 regular-season games in Kansas City, he had ten interceptions and 40 passes defended.
