Chiefs HC Andy Reid ‘feels good’ about critical battle on KC's OL

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid gave further details on the unfolding position battle at right tackle at the team’s final mandatory minicamp practice.

According to The Kansas City Star’s Pete Sweeney, coach Reid stated on Thursday that he feels good about whoever will win the open competition for the starting job at right tackle for next season.

The Chiefs have Jaylon Moore situated at right tackle this offseason. While the starting role has not been assigned as of yet, undrafted free agent Kahlil Benson and Esa Pole are also in contention for the crucially important role on Kansas City's front five.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirms and acknowledges the right tackle position is an open competition. He said he feels good about whomever wins.

Reid made it sound like Jaylon Moore will get the first crack. Other candidates should include Kahlil Benson and Esa Pole.

The Chiefs also traded Wanya Morris to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday. Morris played 27 of his 66 snaps at right tackle last season.

Reid expressed confidence in his entire offensive line across all five slots, but is confident that the best man will win the job at right tackle for the 2026 season.
