Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters recently to close mandatory minicamp. He shared an update on wide receiver Rashee Rice's rehab while he's away from the team.

"Yeah, so (Vice President of Sports Medicine and Performance) Rick's (Burkholder) talked to him (Rashee Rice) more than what I have," said Reid, "Just making sure that everything was set there where he could do some rehab with it and still do the time that he needed to take care of. So, he's on top of that, and thank goodness that they're allowing him to do it. So, they've been great with that."

Rice underwent surgery on his knee earlier this year to clean up loose debris that was causing inflammation. Reid shared his expectation that Rice will be ready for the start of next month's training camp.

"I think he (Rashee Rice) will be. I mean, he gets out here somewhere this next week, so we'll see where it goes from there," said Reid, "He'll be back up here and working."

Rice has appeared in 12 games over the past two seasons, with his 2025 campaign severely affected by injury and missing six contests due to suspension. He finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 10.8 yards per reception.
