Chicago Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca made several major changes to the roster this offseason. After the franchise let go of head coach Teresa Weatherspoon and replaced her with Tyler Marsh, the new regime has been finding ways to build around budding star forward Angel Reese.

Last season, Reese put together an excellent rookie campaign, contributing 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game, the second of which was the most in the WNBA. To supplement her, the team added veteran guards Ariel Atkins and Courtney Vandersloot in free agency, and they drafted Reese's college teammate, Hailey Van Lith, in the first round.

The Sky begin regular season play in just over two weeks, but first, they'll play a trio of preseason games to warm up. Their first contest is a special occasion, as they'll face the Brazil National Team at the Pete Maravich Assembly Hall in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

This is the home of LSU basketball, where Reese and Van Lith played together for a season in college. It will be a special occasion for these two players on Friday evening, but especially for Reese, who won a National Championship there. Coach Marsh was excited about the matchup and sent out a message just hours before tipoff.

"Game Day. Need it! " wrote Marsh.

Reese and the Sky should run through the Brazil National Team, meaning it will likely be a good time to watch several of the team's young players enjoy their first minutes in the WNBA. If the game is closer than expected, it will give fans their first chance to watch Reese in a Sky uniform since late last season.

After this matchup, the Sky will take on the Minnesota Lynx in consecutive exhibition contests before the games actually start to count. Chicago will play its first real game of the season on May 17, when they travel to Indiana to take on Caitlin Clark and the Fever for the first of five matchups between the franchises this season.
