After a long offseason for Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky, the team is back together for the new WNBA season as they look to build upon their 13-27 record from 2024. Reese had herself a standout rookie year, averaging 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game while earning a spot as a WNBA All-Star.
Sunday marked the first day of training camp across the WNBA. For the Chicago Sky, the team got things started for the final time at Sachs Recreation Center in Deerfield, Illinois. They’ll move into a new, state-of-the-art facility in Bedford Park ahead of the 2026 season.

Reese couldn’t contain her excitement to get back on the court with her WNBA team after winning the inaugural Unrivaled three-on-three basketball league this offseason. She took to social media before practice, sharing a message for fans to see.
"Year 2… Day 1 Let’s do it!" Reese wrote.
It's already been a year since the Sky drafted Reese No. 7 overall after playing her college ball at Maryland and then LSU. The 6-foot-3 forward went on to lead the entire WNBA in rebounding per game in Year 1 with the Sky, and has the chance to do so again this season.
She'll have some new teammates in Year 2, including Rebecca Allen, Kia Nurse, Courtney Vandersloot, Hailey Van Lith and Maddy Westbeld.
The Sky’s preseason tips off Friday with a matchup against the Brazilian National Team. After that, the real action starts on May 17, when they face Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in a highly anticipated season opener. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. ET on ABC.
