Of course, there’s that little decision on what to do with LaDainian Tomlinson(notes) as well. Tomlinson failed to rush for 100 yards in any game this season, and could be released.

Man... hitting age 30 as a RB sure is the kiss of death..

Bull. Tell that to Aeneas Williams!

Just look at the videos from this angle: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=222043

No way in hell I want this guy on my team EVER!

That's the best angle on the clip I started the other thread on. You can see him slow up to avoid hitting Greene in the hole.

Depends what he'd want, he is a good CB but you can't do what he did on that play, I would bet that play being shown on ESPN a bunch has a lot to do with San Diego considering getting rid of him.

I'd take him at the right price but he better not pull that crap again.

I'd trade a 3rd rounder for him. He along with DRC & Rolle would be a great ball hawking trio and adding them to AW we should form the best secondary in the league.

Isn't that because nobody throws at him?

I hardly remember DRC defensing any passes vs. the Packers?

No. Cromartie is nowhere near shutdown. He's just a athlete who is average at covering receivers and mediocre at tackling.

You guys are nuts saying no. It takes a position we are deep at and use the guy we are probably eventually losing anyway and getting a position that we DESPERATELY need. Our secondary got SHREDDED. Adding Cromartie to the 2 or 3 spot is a major upgrade at nickle over Mike Adams. We get a GOOD player without having to draft one. This puts more of a need on a pass rusher in the draft and possibly a late round QB. This is a VERY good trade in my opinion.

Your definition of good and mine are completely different. Guys who have ZERO heart and ZERO integrity are a disgrace to the game of football. He qualifies on both accounts.

If not Cromartie is there another LB or DB out there that the Cards could get for Boldin?

Fact remains he is a good football player. Look if another corner is available who has more heart and more integrity and their looking to make Anquan their new guy then by all means go get him. But their isn't. And the Chargers are an Anquan Boldin away (in their minds) to a Superbowl. They have the pieces in the secondary that they are getting rid of and Cromartie happens to be the best guy on the market. Its a piece we NEED and even you have to say he adds ALOT to our secondary.

Why? So when we make it to the playoffs he can be heartless and gutless and be afraid to make a key tackle that would have likely won the game for us? NO THANKS. The fact of the matter is that other than his one 12 int season he just hasen't been all that good.

Not to mention who says the Charger need Q or are even interested? They have Vincent Jackson and Antonio Gates in that Offense. They really dont need him.

You could be right Shane but this was a thread about getting Cromartie. Like I said above, if another corner is available who is a better player, then go for him. I'm not sold on Cromartie. But we all agree the secondary needs an upgrade. WR is where we are stacked so those are our trading pieces and unfortunetly #81 sits at the front of the line on the way out. What corners do you like that could be up to get?

IMO he would be perfect, he has very good size, extremely good athleticism.

If you want to harp on his tackling fine.. I don't think that is so important but Cromartie is young enough to improve his game still.

He and DRC might push each other to new heights. Plus Antonio would only be the #2 CB, I can't think of many #2 CBs in the league better than him.

It does something silent but deadly too. It gives us a HUGE upgrade at 3. Even if it's Toler or McFadden (who could be cut in this deal). It gives us MUCH needed speed at all three spots and gives Toler another year to play spot duty. Gives us a major MAJOR upgrade than what we have now.

Maybe. Or maybe their prima donna egos would simply feed off each other and take that crap to new heights. :D

Hey Deion had one of the biggest egos God almighty ever gave out and he was incredible. Maybe their two egos together will surpass his! LoL Even if that means we get half the production Deion had on each side of the field, I'd take it.

What are you talking about here Shane-O? Have you been on a month long bender since the season ended? :)'

Zero Heart and Zero Integrity? Are you hiring him to do your taxes? And how are you measuring his heart exactly?

Bottom line is Cromartie is talented and we need as much of that as possible on the defense. Because you watched one clip where he didn't dive in on a Jets running back your going to write him off? Dude can cover and plays the ball well and I would love to see him in the secondary.

I would say that was a pretty big Video clip in arguably the most important game of his teams history. Yet he made zero effort and didn't want to tackle him. It cost them the game too. So personally I don't care how talented he is. He a first class loser IMO.

Shane, your loyalty to Boldin is admirable. I was that way with Jake Plummer, but I think it's time to get into reality. Q is a fine player, but his better days are behind him. He is injury prone, isn't the tackle breaking machine of his first few years, and he will be 30 years old this upcoming season.

I think you are way overvaluing what we can ever expect to get for Boldin. The rest of the league views him for what he really is, a good possession receiver who can't stretch the field. Sure he can break a long one every once in a while, but in a lot of ways he has become our Larry Centers (8 yards and a pile of dust).

The cold, hard truth is that he isn't an elite player anymore. We would be absolutely nuts to not take Antonio Cromartie for Boldin straight up. There is no way this is going to happen because the Chargers would never make that deal. A freakishly talented cornerback is much harder to find than a possession receiver.

Just my opinion.
